Daily Mandarin helps you learn everyday Chinese and save your learning progress.
Accounts and sign-in
When you sign in with Google or GitHub, our authentication service receives your platform account identifier and the profile information provided for sign-in, such as your name and email address. Your platform password is entered on the platform's own website and is not collected by Daily Mandarin. We use these details to create and recognize your learning account.
Learning records
For signed-in learners, we store explored phrases, lesson completions, self-rated practice counts and activity times. We also record account creation and login times. Site administrators can view your email, connected sign-in platforms and learning records, and can manage the lesson content.
Browser storage
Our site stores your sign-in session and pending progress updates in your browser. Guest progress stays in the browser where you study and is not automatically merged into an account. Signing out removes the active sign-in session; pending updates may remain on that device until synchronized.
Service providers
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Supabase provides authentication and database storage. Google and GitHub handle their own sign-in and consent pages. These providers may process technical information required to operate their services. Our current database is hosted in Tokyo, Japan.
Your choices
You can study as a guest, sign out, or revoke the application's access through your Google or GitHub account settings. Revoking platform access does not itself delete your learning records. To request account or learning-record deletion, contact qmao@letwx.com; we may need to verify that you own the account. Clearing browser storage removes guest progress and any unsynchronized updates on that device.
